The priority is the foundation and sill plate area: I want confirmation that the new timber is properly seated, securely anchored, level, and free of lingering moisture or insect issues. Because the work also adjoins a set of exterior French doors, I’d appreciate your trained eye on their threshold alignment and weather-proofing while you’re on site, though the core assignment remains the sill plate check. There are no prior damage reports or assessments to reference, so you will be starting with a clean slate. I am expecting a concise written report—photos included—highlighting any defects, code concerns, or maintenance recommendations.
