I’m converting part of my house into a residential­-style library and need an interior designer who can shape inviting, functional study rooms. The goal is to capture the calm focus of a public library while still feeling like home, so thoughtful space planning, smart storage, warm lighting and ergonomic furniture selection are all essential. What I already have • Room dimensions, photos, and a rough Pinterest mood board. • A clear idea of how many people should be able to work here at once (two private study nooks plus one shared table). What I need from you • Concept layout options that maximise shelving and seating without crowding the room. • Material and colour palette that blends library atmosphere with a cosy residential tone. • 3D visualisations or rendered elevations so I can see the flow before committing. • A concise specification sheet listing furniture, lighting and finishes with purchase links or equivalent references available in my region. I prefer designers experienced with small-scale residential libraries or home offices and who are comfortable working in SketchUp, AutoCAD or Revit, though I’m flexible if you have another efficient workflow. Good communication and the ability to adapt quickly to feedback are more important than the specific tool.
