Marketplace Curator (Part-Time, Remote) No experience required. We’re looking for passion, dedication, and zeal—not a fancy resume. If you love Indian crafts, can spot authentic artisans on Instagram, have a good eye for beautiful things, and want to build something meaningful, this is your role. You’ll be the architect of HereCraft’s marketplace—researching regional specialties, discovering hidden artisans on social media, and deciding what India’s artisan communities share with the world. What You’ll Do 1. Research & Category Building (By State) – Deep dive into specialty goods of assigned Indian states – Design Category Level 2 & 3 based on regional products – Showcase diversity of each state’s cultural treasures 2. Vendor Sourcing – Scout Instagram and social media for quality artisans – Identify authentic makers lacking digital presence – Evaluate leads by authenticity, craft quality, and story potential – Build a vendor pipeline for onboarding 3. Vendor Relationship Building – Reach out to leads via Instagram DM, email, or WhatsApp – Have genuine conversations about their craft and needs – Facilitate meetings with the Vendor Acquisition Team – Maintain relationships through handoff 4. Product Curation & Photography Selection – Review rough photos from vendor visits – Select products for professional photography – Evaluate based on authenticity and visual potential 5. Catalogue Review & Final Approval – Review Excel catalogues with SKUs, names, features, filters – Verify accuracy and cultural alignment – Coordinate with Relationship Executives and Graphic Team – Give final approval of all product images before website upload – Be the quality gatekeeper for the entire marketplace 6. Quality & Cultural Integrity – Ensure vendors meet authenticity and ethical standards – Filter counterfeits and mass-produced goods – Educate vendors about HereCraft values What We’re Looking For Location Requirement: - Must be based in India (we’re launching with India) - Understand local contexts and can meet vendors physically Essential Qualities (No experience needed): Passion & Dedication - Genuine love for Indian crafts and cultural heritage - Zeal to make this marketplace big - Willingness to learn and build from scratch Eye for Design - Spot authentic, well-crafted, beautiful products - Understand what looks good and tells a story - Know what’s visually compelling Research & Discovery - Find details about crafts and artisans online (Instagram, Google, blogs) - Comfortable reaching out to strangers on social media - Enjoy deep-diving into regional specialties Knowledge - Basic knowledge of Indian crafts, textiles, regional specialties - Familiarity with what makes states unique (Benarasi silks, Madhubani art, etc.) - Respect for diverse Indian cultures and heritage - Willing to learn about unfamiliar crafts Communication - Warm, respectful, empathetic style - Comfortable talking with artisans from different backgrounds - English fluency; regional languages are a huge plus - Good listener who makes people feel valued Detail-Oriented - Notice typos, low-quality photos, misaligned descriptions - High standards for quality - Willing to carefully review work and ask questions Digital Comfort - Use Instagram, Facebook, email, WhatsApp - Basic comfort with Google Sheets, Excel - Quick learner with new tools - No coding needed—just willingness to work digitally Mindset - Humble and eager to learn - Problem-solver who takes initiative - Self-motivated and reliable - Team player Why This Matters You’re building HereCraft state-by-state. You’ll: - Discover hidden artisans who deserve global platforms - Design authentic category structures reflecting each state’s treasures - Bridge centuries-old crafts with global buyers - Preserve cultural heritage and prevent exploitation - Amplify stories from Varanasi weavers to Rajasthan textile artists. You are the final quality authority. Every product image, catalogue entry, and description on HereCraft gets your approval. Your seal matters.
