About the job

College Application Essay Ghostwriter Wanted — Personal Statement + Supplemental Essays I’m looking for an exceptional college application essay writer/ghostwriter to help me develop my Common App personal statement and supplemental essays for highly selective U.S. universities. I’m not looking for a generic “college essay writer” who simply makes an essay sound impressive. I want someone who understands what makes an admissions essay genuinely memorable: strong storytelling, emotional depth, specificity, reflection, an authentic voice, and a clear sense of who the student is beyond grades and achievements. What I’m looking for I need someone who can: * Help me identify and develop the strongest stories and themes from my own experiences * Turn my ideas and rough writing into compelling, polished essays without making them sound artificial or AI-generated * Preserve my personality and voice rather than replacing it with overly sophisticated or cliché language * Create powerful openings/hooks that immediately draw the reader in * Build essays around meaningful moments rather than simply listing accomplishments * Show growth, self-awareness, character, and perspective through storytelling * Help me avoid common admissions-essay clichés and predictable “immigrant/student overcame adversity” narratives * Give honest feedback when an idea is weak, overused, or not revealing enough about me * Help with both the Common App personal statement (650 words) and multiple supplemental essays, while making each one reveal a different side of me * Understand the expectations and nuances of highly selective U.S. college admissions, especially schools such as Columbia, Cornell, Fordham, and Stony Brook Most importantly… I want my essays to make an admissions officer feel like they’ve actually met me by the end of the essay. I don’t want an essay that says, “I am hardworking, resilient, and passionate about healthcare.” I want the reader to experience those qualities through the story and come to those conclusions themselves. I’m also very particular about quality. I’m looking for someone who is willing to brainstorm, ask thoughtful questions, challenge weak ideas, and revise until the essay feels genuinely powerful — not someone who simply takes a paragraph and “makes it sound better.” Ideal writer You would be a great fit if you: * Have significant experience with U.S. college admissions essays * Have worked with competitive applicants * Understand the Common App and supplemental essay formats * Have excellent storytelling and editing skills * Know how to write emotionally powerful essays without becoming melodramatic * Can recognize and eliminate clichés * Are comfortable doing multiple rounds of revision * Can preserve a teenager’s authentic voice instead of making the writing sound like it came from a 35-year-old professional writer * Are willing to collaborate closely rather than simply deliver a finished essay Please do not send a generic proposal. In your response, tell me: 1. Your experience with U.S. college admissions essays 2. Examples of successful essays/applications you have worked on (while respecting client privacy) 3. Which types of universities/applicants you typically work with 4. Your approach to developing a personal statement from a student’s experiences 5. How many rounds of revisions are included 6. Your availability over the next few weeks 7. Your pricing I’m looking for someone who genuinely cares about storytelling and authenticity, not just someone who knows how to use impressive vocabulary. If you can help me turn my experiences into essays that are emotionally resonant, distinctive, beautifully written, and unmistakably mine, I’d love to hear from you.
