About the job

First up don't waste your time or mine. If you are not based in Greece and are fluent in Greek...don't bother applying. I will delete you are application immediately. I have reached the point in my family research where online searches alone are no longer enough. I now need someone who is physically in Greece and familiar with genealogical methodology to help me confirm and extend my family-tree connections on the mainland. Your main focus will be to locate and verify records that tie together the branches I have already identified. That means working with Greek immigration records as well as Greek and, where relevant, Turkish local-council archives. If you already know your way around the MyHeritage platform, that will make collaboration easier, but the core of the job is on-the-ground document retrieval and careful source citation. Deliverables • Documented family-tree links (names, dates, relationships) with source references • Digital copies or high-resolution photos of each record you locate • A brief summary explaining how each new piece fits the existing tree and any gaps that still remain Because the research centres on mainland registries, you should already have access—or know how to gain access—to municipal offices, church archives, and immigration files inside Greece. A background in genealogy, archival science, or local history will be valuable, but proven experience locating primary records is what matters most. If this is within your expertise, I’m ready to share the information I’ve gathered so far and outline the specific surnames and locations I need you to explore.
