Adelaide Pool Patrol is looking for an exceptional automation developer to implement a production-ready ServiceM8 automation system. This is not a discovery or consulting project. Our business workflows, operating rules and desired outcomes are already substantially mapped with AI Copilot. We will provide detailed business logic and work directly with the successful developer to resolve questions quickly. We need someone who is particularly strong in: - n8n production automation - REST APIs and webhooks - ServiceM8 or comparable field-service/job-management platforms - Xero/payment-status integrations - Workflow state management - Error handling, retries and exception management - Clean, documented and maintainable automation - Intelligent use of AI to accelerate development Initial production workflow The first implementation centres around: Proposal Accepted → Deposit/Payment → Equipment In Stock or Ordered → Equipment Ready → Full Payment → Ready for Installation → Scheduling → Customer Notification → Picking/Installation A critical APP business rule is: Equipment must never be released or installed until full payment has been confirmed. The workflow must accommodate equipment already in stock as well as equipment that needs to be ordered. Budget and expectations Budget: up to A$1,500 fixed price. This budget is for a working, tested production implementation, not merely a proof of concept, discovery report, architecture document or estimate for further development. Before accepting the project, the successful developer must review the supplied specification and confirm what they will deliver for the agreed fixed price. We understand genuine unforeseen technical limitations can occur. However, we do not want a project that begins at an attractive price and subsequently becomes a series of requests for additional hours because the scope was underestimated. If something is unclear before commencement, ask before accepting the milestone. Ownership and handover APP will own and control: - n8n environment - ServiceM8/API credentials - workflows and APP-specific automation logic - documentation - custom code developed specifically for APP The solution should be structured sensibly so APP's underlying business logic is not unnecessarily locked into ServiceM8. We expect our technology platform to evolve in the future. Acceptance criteria Payment will be milestone-based and tied to working deliverables, not hours spent. The final milestone will only be released when the agreed workflow has been: Built → Tested → Demonstrated working → Documented → Handed over to APP Normal debugging and correction of the agreed functionality is part of the fixed-price implementation. Who we want We are looking for one outstanding developer, not the cheapest developer. There is significant additional automation work available for the right person after this initial project. When applying, please answer these three questions: 1. What is the most sophisticated n8n/API production automation you have personally built? What systems did it connect and what was your role? 2. How did you handle failures, duplicate events, retries and situations where an external API was unavailable? 3. Based on the workflow above, identify the three biggest technical risks or unknowns you would verify before accepting the fixed-price project. Please do not send a generic agency proposal. We are interested in the person who will actually design and build the automation.
