À propos de l'offre

I’m looking for an experienced Substack Publication Manager / Editor to help take an existing publication to its next stage of growth — with a strong focus on audience development, engagement and monetisation. This will be a monthly rolling contract. The publication serves midlife LGBTQ+ men, exploring the experiences, questions and opportunities that come with this stage of life. I’m not simply looking for someone to upload and schedule posts. I want someone who can take genuine ownership of the publication and help shape its growth.

The role

will include: • Acting as editor — helping refine content, structure, headlines and positioning • Optimising the publication and individual posts for discovery, engagement and conversion • Developing and implementing a subscriber growth strategy • Increasing both free and paid subscriptions • Building reader engagement and community • Understanding and using Substack Notes and other growth opportunities within the platform • Developing a clear monetisation strategy • Setting up and managing paid subscriptions, offers and other potential revenue streams • Reviewing analytics and using the data to continually improve performance • Advising on content strategy and identifying topics and formats that resonate with the audience • Exploring collaborations, cross-promotions and partnerships that can expand our reach Who I’m looking for: You should have proven experience growing and monetising Substack publications. Please be prepared to share examples, results or case studies. Ideally, you’ll either be part of the LGBTQ+ community or be a genuine ally with a strong understanding of midlife LGBTQ+ men and the issues, interests and experiences relevant to this audience. I’m looking for someone who combines strong editorial instincts with commercial thinking — someone who understands that great content, community, growth and monetisation all need to work together. This has the potential to become an ongoing relationship for the right person. When applying, please include: Substack publications you’ve worked on Specific subscriber/growth results you’ve achieved Your experience with paid subscriptions and monetisation How you would approach the first 90 days Your experience or connection with the LGBTQ+ community Your availability and proposed fee/rate I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who can look at an existing publication, identify what’s currently missing, and bring both the strategy and the hands-on execution needed to grow it into a successful paid publication.
