Test Project: Local SEO Strategy, Audit & Implementation Purpose A small, paid task to see how you think strategically and execute technically to enable me to plan further SEO work and marketing strategy. Also to demonstrate wordpress skills and clear communication. Background The Range Holistic Spa & Wellness (www.therangewellness.com.au) is a private wellness retreat (Finnish sauna, cold plunge, magnesium spa, fire pit, contrast therapy) on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We wish to target nearby potential guests and current guests within nearby luxury accommodation. Scope Part 1: Local SEO Strategy (written) Give me a short strategy document covering: • How to align our SEO/content with guests staying at specific local luxury accommodation locations (local intent, proximity-based search behaviour). • Include steps to expand the approach to google paid ads for these types of guests stating in the local area and also researching this accommodation. • Specific tactics: local landing pages, location-based schema, Google Business Profile optimisation, content ideas targeting near luxury accommodation providers. Part 2: SEO Audit (written) • Audit the current site (therangewellness.com.au) for local SEO gaps • Flag specific, prioritised issues (not generic checklist items) — on-page, technical, and Google Business Profile. Quite a bit of seo work has already been done on this site. • Reference actual data from Search Console/GA4 where relevant Part 3: One Small Implementation • Pick the single highest-impact fix from your audit and implement it directly in WordPress/Rank Math (e.g. one page's local SEO optimisation, one schema addition, one GBP fix) • This demonstrates you are able to implement described changes. Part 4: Fix some website implementation issues noted below: - Some pages have a grey banner at the top of the page, remove this - Fix the error in the current page (double header) https://therangewellness.com.au/contrast-therapy/ What I'm evaluating • Strategic thinking: do they understand local/proximity SEO specifically, not just generic SEO? • Are you a candidate to work with in the future on an ongoing basis? • Audit quality: specific and prioritised, referencing real data, vs generic advice • Implementation: correctly executed, doesn't break anything • Communication: clear explanation of reasoning, honest about what will/won't move rankings quickly Access provided • A separate WordPress account with Editor role — sufficient for page-level SEO/content changes, does not allow plugin/theme/site-level changes • View-only access to Google Search Console and GA4 Timeline Please complete within 3 days of receiving access. This is offered as a maximum of 3 hours work. Future This project is a tester for additional work to be performed in the future.
