What you would be doing Syrgas fixes, redesigns and automates lead-flow processes in Victorian SMEs. We have a researched list of prospects (company, contact, phone, website, and a written brief on what each business does and where their process is likely leaking). You would be calling them. 2 Phases. 1/ The goal of phase 1 is not to sell anything. It is to get the owner to complete our Lead Flow Health Check, a free fifteen-minute assessment that produces a written report showing where enquiries and money are being lost in their business. Genuinely free, genuinely useful, and it is the front door to everything else we do. You will need to inform and convince the prospects to engage with the free tool. Your deliverables, weekly: • Work through the prospects from the call sheet • Log every outcome, including the ones that go nowhere • Hand warm conversations to director with a short-written summary Target is 15 completed Health Checks Questionnaires per week. The call sheet contains over 100 prospects and is growing each day. We will agree those numbers together after the first fortnight, once we both know what is realistic rather than what sounds good. 2/ Positively assessed questionnaires will be discussed and followed by you with a phone call, bringing them onto the first core service line; a Discovery Audit. This is a workshop where we map the processes of the prospect’s company and identify gaps and bottlenecks. After the DA, we have another two service lines where your call is required to convert. Skills you need • Confident on the phone with business owners and directors, not gatekeepers • Able to hold a conversation about how a business runs without needing technical knowledge. If you can ask a lawyer how enquiries are handled and listen to the answer, that is the skill. • Comfortable working from a spreadsheet and keeping it accurate • Australian market experience, ideally with small and medium businesses You do not need a background in AI, automation or software. You need to be curious about how small and medium businesses work and honest about what you find. Communication Plain English, no jargon, on the phone and in your notes. The written notes matter more than most people expect. A one-line outcome is useless to us, and a two-sentence summary of what the owner said is worth a lot. We will have a short call each week to go through what worked and what did not. Between those, message me whenever you need to. I answer quickly. How we work Everything gets logged in one place. If it is not in the call sheet, it did not happen. This is because the whole business runs on that data and gaps in it cost us later. We do not pressure people. If a prospect does not need us, we say so and move on. That is not a nice-to-have, it is how we win the ones who do need us. If you are used to targets that require pushing, this will feel slow at first. We want honest reporting, including the bad weeks. A call sheet full of "not interested" tells me something is wrong with the list or the pitch, and that is my problem to fix, not yours to hide. Syrgas is early. Our first clients are landing now. That means you would be shaping how this works rather than following a playbook someone wrote three years ago, and it means some weeks will be untidy. If that appeals, we will get on well. If you want a mature process to slot into, we are not there yet. Practical Melbourne-based, working remotely with occasional in-person catch-ups. Flexible hours within business hours. Pay and commission structure Syrgas is a start-up and I will not pretend to be otherwise. This is a contractor role, paid on results. If it works, it becomes a proper role with a base. 10% of the engagement value of everything that a client spends with us in their first twelve months, paid when we are paid. There are 3 converting service lines points. The service lines are all around fixing, optimising and automating lead flow processes, and many SMEs can improve their flow one way or another. When you’re good over the phone and have a general understanding of enquiry/quote request follow up within businesses (mostly Professional Services to start with), then you will be able to convert positive questionnaires. You will need an ABN and your own insurance. You choose your own hours within business hours and your own approach on the phone. The list and the brief are provided, how you work, is up to you. This suits someone with other income who wants a flexible few hours a week and is confident enough on the phone to back themselves on results. Looking forward to receiving your resume and why you’re the right candidate for Syrgas.
