I need a concise boundary-definition plan that lets me track human movement in a small outdoor space—think a plaza or pocket-park. You may choose either laser range-finders or LiDAR sensors; I’m flexible as long as the final solution reliably flags when a person enters or exits the defined perimeter. Here’s what I’m after: • A site-layout drawing that shows optimal sensor placement and coverage, taking into account line-of-sight, mounting height, weather protection, and power/network needs. • Configuration guidelines for the chosen hardware (recommended makes, models, beam angles, ranges, data rates). • A basic processing workflow or script that converts raw distance data into real-time boundary-crossing events I can feed into my analytics stack. Python, ROS, or similar open-source tools are preferred for easier maintenance. • Calibration and testing steps so I can verify detection accuracy once the equipment is on site. If you have prior work deploying LiDAR or laser systems for crowd counting or perimeter security, I’d love to reference that experience. My priority is a straightforward, repeatable setup that I can expand later, so clarity of documentation is key.
