I’m ready to turn my concept sketches into a production-ready carbon-fiber drone frame and I need your CAD expertise. The brief is straightforward: create a lightweight yet exceptionally strong body that keeps carbon-fiber lay-up and CNC trimming in mind from the very first sketch. Structure & layout • Fixed motor mounts at each arm tip—no adjustability needed there. • An adjustable battery bay so I can fine-tune the centre of gravity as payloads change. • Clearly defined mounting points for the flight controller, ESCs, GPS, and any auxiliary boards, plus tidy wiring channels that let cables disappear inside the arms and fuselage. Engineering focus You’ll need to dial in wall thickness, internal ribbing, and smooth joint transitions that respect typical carbon-fiber ply schedules. Weight targets are flexible; I just want the best possible strength-to-weight ratio without arbitrary limits. If you can back the design with simple FEA to confirm stiffness before hand-off, even better. Deliverables 1. Native SolidWorks files, fully editable and parametric. 2. STEP files for cross-platform sharing. 3. STL files suitable for rapid-prototyping fit checks. 4. Manufacturing drawings with all critical dimensions, hole patterns, and recommended lay-up notes. I’ll supply component dimensions, reference pictures, and my hand sketches the moment we start so you can model around real hardware. The end goal is a CAD package that a composite shop can load straight into their CAM workflow with zero re-work.
