Insurance Claims Assessment Specialist

I’m looking for a seasoned professional who can step in and take full ownership of the assessment phase for Intact Insurance claims. Your sole focus will be on the technical evaluation—establishing coverage, determining liability, estimating loss, and preparing clear, defensible recommendations for the next stage of the file. Our in-house team will handle the downstream processing and direct client communication, so you can concentrate on delivering rock-solid assessments. Here’s what the work involves: • Log in to Intact’s claims platform (credentials provided) and review new assignments as they arrive. • Analyse policy wording, supporting documents, photos, estimates, and third-party reports to reach an objective coverage decision. • Prepare a concise written assessment that outlines your findings, rationale, and any additional information required before the claim can proceed. • Flag potential fraud indicators or subrogation opportunities when they appear. • Turn around most files within 24–48 hours. Ideal background You’ve already handled high-volume assessments for a national carrier or independent adjusting firm and understand Canadian provincial regulations inside out. Familiarity with estimating tools (e.g., Xactimate or Audatex) is a plus, but the critical requirement is sound judgment and attention to detail. Deliverables 1. A completed assessment report for each claim following the Intact template. 2. A short summary note highlighting next steps or missing documentation.
